Southwest Service Area Master Plan
Plans for this area have been proposed and the project is currently in a 45 day public comment period, until April 5, 2020. This is your last chance to comment on this plan before it is finalized.
Two bike parks and three skateparks are being proposed for SW Minneapolis parks, let the MPRB know what you think of the plan. We suggest including something along the lines of:
"The bike parks are great and we want to see messaging added to the skate park locations that includes "all-wheel" or bike specific features will be included".
Parks with bike infrastructure:
The Parade Park
Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr Park
Parks with skate parks:
28th Ave Tot Lot (DIY Skate Park)
**Pro Tip: Simple comments like, "it's great to see bike parks being added to our parks" go a long way.**
Accessible, off-street biking infrastructure has never looked more promising in Minneapolis. Since 2017, we have been advocating for safe, exciting locations for Minneapolis kids to ride and learn on their bikes and it's paying off, we are nearing our goal of seeing plans for bike parks in all corners of the city- up next funding and prioritization.
